How To Backup Stock Rom Using CWM For Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360
In my previous tutorials on samsung galaxy y i have explained about CWM (clockwork mod) recovery and how to install it manually, because by official it is not available for GT-S5360. To install CWM see my article on how to manually install CWM recovery.
Now lets start and lets learn how to backup stock rom using CWM recovery.
Stock Rom – Its your default ROM installed already in your phone by your phone manufacturer!!
Step 1: First read my previous article on how to manually install CWM recovery (recommended).
Step 2: After installing CWM recovery go to ROM manager and click on Reboot into Recovery.
Step 3: Now your phone will boot in stock recovery mode, then select apply update from sd card then select Skin1980-GT-S5360+CWM.zip file
Step 4: Now you will boot into CWM recovery and there select backup and restore, wait until your phones completely gets backed up!
That’s it, you have finally learned how to backup stock rom using CWM recovery.

Which part of SD card backup the rom.
And this rom can be restore with odin or cwm.
you can use odin or cwm recovery to back up the stock rom!!
Hmm.. Sir, is this tested? You mean if I did this (Backup the stock rom), then install Custom Rom ex: Creeds Rom, then how will I restore the stock rom because example I got bored at Creeds Rom… Thanks.. I want to try these but I need a confirmation.. thanks !

One last thing, is it applicable to SGY 2.3.5..?
This method can be used in any model i own Samsung Galaxy Y S5360L gingerbread 2.3.6.
I can back up my stock rom with this method.
and you can make a tutorial how to get back to original rom after use custom rom.

i wanted to go back to the stock rom, well it installs but when i reboot it it hangs att the first screen i hade it powerd on over 3 hours!!! my os is gingerbred (2.3.6 the original)

when i install CWM and i press restore it says
“Coudnt open directory no files found”
what file is required ? Please Help me out

well i rebooted it but 1 more thing where can we see our back up file?
Go to ROM manager > Restore and back ups’s or go to CWM recovery and select backup and restore
after that it asks for clockworkMod 2.x or clockworkMod 3.x+?

Once you root the phone, you can get rid of the bloatware by ilsatnling Titanium Backup and Deleting them from there. I rooted my phone last night just so I can remove the Bloatware that TMO puts on the phone. However, I did take a backup of all the apps on the phone (again using Titanium) just to be safe in case I deleted something that should not be I like how the list of currently running apps on my phone has gone down and the phone is much faster than before!Good Luck!!
umm i got it i switched to creed 3.1 an d then got back to 2.3.6 with that back up without using odin

hi, kunal can u explain stepwise procedure for installing creeds ROM. I installed creeds but the screen showed only twisting ladder like 3D animation, when i powered it on. N it never goes,,it stays for hours however i removed battery to stop that. after that i entered CWM n restored my gingerbread(stock) ROM back….i wanna have that “14TOGGLES” notification bar, I’m really excited to have that which is the only reason forcing me to creeds ROM. N if u don’t mind may i know the reason why you are bored with creeds.? or did ur device got stuck or freeze somthing lik tht??

but still i,ll sum it up once again
1)copy “Creeds Fusion v3.1.zip” on your sd card
2)switch of your phone and press “Vol. UP+Home+Power” buttons till SGY logo appears
3)select update from sd card
4)after that choose this file ” Skin1980-GT-S5360+CWM.zip”
5)then choose “wipe data/reset” then choose “Yes–delete all user”
6)after that choose “wipe cache partition” and then”Yes- wipe cache”
7)now choose “install zip from sd card” after that choose “choose zip from sdca” after that go for “Creeds Fusion v3.1″
8)after all that is over keep on going back (“using power key”) till you find reboot system now and then let it reboot
last time you had probably missed out on step 5 or 6 and i went back to my stock rom because it wasnt supporting all features of jelly bean play store and i also didnt like the interface. hey i have galaxy y , but dont have so much knwledge how to install rom ..
i have downloadede jellybeans rom (ussrv5.zip) & then put it on my sd card rooted the phone after that install updates from sd card
installation gets successful but phone gets stuck at booting on the screen of galaxy y logo ….
i have not created any backup or any thing now what can i do ????

no only you have to use odin to restore your phone to stock rom, just google it!
hi sir, i have backed up my sgy stock rom and flashed a custom rom. and now i wanted to go back to my stock rom and since i have backed up my stock rom, do i need to download a firmware to flash back my stock rom? or can i just use my backed up firmware on my sdcard and use it using odin? pls i need to know. . tnx

before restoring, u sud have created a backup … steps missing in procedure…. LOL
