It is something like a form of multitasking. For example while you are having a look to an email and you receive a message in between then you can slide your finger from left to right and you will see a portion of BB Hub and can open the message by tapping over it. It will not open completely as you will also be seeing your email side by side but it will come in a form of one over one like cascades.
Keyboard and Browser
The traditional BlackBerry’s handsets were seen with a physical keyboard, but first BB10 handset Z10 will be a full touch phone. So you will be definitely waiting for the review of its on-screen keyboard. The geeks who have used it were quite positive about its keyboard. Its enough large to type easily even while in state of walking. It too gives suggestions during typing which can be implemented by just swiping them towards text. With a lot of engineering on its on-screen keyboard it seems that it may come out as the best keyboard for touch Smartphones.
When our geeks came in the browser of Z10 they were seen to be giving out some charming expressions. You will also like the BB10 browser due to its fast speed and easy handling. You we see the address bar downwards on the screen which somewhat seems like of ‘Internet Explorer’ on Windows Phone. Due to inbuilt Adobe support you will be able to view all the flash sites and your favorite channels on YouTube. The PEEK works here too, just swipe towards the right you will see recently visited, history, bookmarks and lots more.
This will be the first feature you are going to use in your upcoming BB10 OS based handset after reading this article. BlackBerry is also much excited for having the review of its new feature in camera i.e. “time shift”. Time Shift is a feature which allows you to set the best face or position when your friend was smiling or was not blinking his/her eyes. You can use it simply by moving in options and tapping ‘time shift’ in menu after launching your camera. The camera will click a pic and detect a face automatically and will give you the option to set the face which varied in about almost 5 Sec before clicking the pic and you can select the face.
What GeeksWorkshop likes?
Well BB10 is a bit late but had many features which impressed our Geeks, few are as follows-
- Excellent UI.
- Web Browser.
- Gesture Controls.
- Time Shift.
What GeeksWorkshop doesn’t likes?
Even after getting impressed by its fluid UI and other dashing features it has few lags too, few are as follows-
- Lack of Apps.
- A bit confusing OS for Freshers.
- Lack of physical buttons.
In a word its just a “bet” for RIM. Though BlackBerry did a lot of hard work on the OS, but they somewhere made it confusing too. But since BlackBerry is addictive to make some new trend out of its product so RIM can hope that people will prefer complete gesture based OS in coming features.
For now we can say that you may pull your hands in store from BlackBerry10 OS based device if you will try to take a demo of it gestures. But you may get happy after playing it enough for around 10-12 days. The one more feature which may disappoint you will be lack of apps. You will get only renowned apps. We had not faced any kind of hangs or lags during our tests. You can go with this if you want anything new in a branded name.
NOTE: - The features given here were observed in handset received for testing. The features may increase or may even decrease in the actual product.
